Neo-Pagan Modern Thoughts On Society

No matter what your targets are, change is always difficult. Its scary and new and throws us off of our often trod path. Our world is shaken and we come to conclusions that are often times thrust on us by force.

Its that time of year again, when people look at things in their life that they want to change or improve. A new beginning, a new year! Some choose to lose weight. Some choose to get all buffed and muscled out at the gym. Some choose to read more. Some choose to travel to destinations where they have always longed. Some want to get a job!

No matter what your targets are, change is always difficult. Its scary and new and throws us off of our often trod path. Our world is shaken and we come to conclusions that are often times thrust on us by force.

Just do yourself a favor and be gentle with yourself at New Years. Don’t put too much weight on the success of your resolutions. Don’t judge the rest of your year by a simple challenge to yourself. Keep your resolutions within the boundaries of reality and your own physics. Don’t repeat resolutions from your past EVER! If it didn’t work before, its probably not going to work again.

And if you are stuck for a good resolution, try one of these:

  1. – Make friends with someone who you normally ignore.
  2. – Eat dinner at a place you have never eaten.
  3. – Call someone from your distant past that you have not spoke to in forever.
  4. – Make amends to an individual that you have wronged in the past.
  5. – Forgive yourself for a failing of your own.

Let’s look forward to 2011 and hope that it is a much better year than 2010. Often times, the odd years are the ones that offer more hope and good will anyway. Kind of like the odd people!
