Neo-Pagan Modern Thoughts On Society

School bullys have been around for as long as……well… school. Kids love to pick on each other. They practice it daily at home, on the playground and at school. They perfect it with the viciousness of a pack of wolves tearing down an Elk. Many think it is a natural process that children go through to weed out the weak from the pack.

They perfect it with the viciousness of a pack of wolves tearing down an Elk. Many think it is a natural process that children go through to weed out the weak from the pack.

But lately, parents have become more involved. Parents fighting parents at soccer games, at baseball games and even at tennis matches. All in the defense of their kids. They are not putting up with bullying anymore and parents are taking it into their own hands.

The latest is a father finally became fed-up with his daughters bullys harrassing her on the school bus. So the father stormed the school bus, swore at the kids, threatened the bullys with bodily harm and called them lots of un-fatherlike names and then was promptly arrested.

So did dad accomplish anything? Has he helped or hurt his daughter? The news reported that his daughter will be moving schools now and starting over and that the current school counsellors have still not responded to the parents concerns about the school bus bullys.

When parents send their kids to school, those children become the protected individuals of the school staff. That includes safety from bullys among other things. Schools need to keep a closer watch over bullys at school, on the way to school and on the way home from school.

I was bullied on a school bus for three years, from 7th – 9th grade in an upscale suburban neighborhood. I hated riding on the school bus. And kids were meaner on it I found. It effected my grades and my attitude towards school in general from that point on.

Have the days of public education finally reached a crossroads? Without safety you have no place for learning, as each individual must feel safe from harm and protected in a learning environment. If I had children, there is no way I would send them to public school anymore. They would be home schooled for sure. Its sad that a parent has to lose his cool to get attention about an important matter like this. Sad indeed.
