Neo-Pagan Modern Thoughts On Society

Now Low and Behold! Guess what was discovered in this desolate country? Only over a trillion dollars (conservative estimate) of rich minerals including copper, gold and iron. Gee, what a coincidence!

Remember that distant war going on in Afghanistan?

  1. First the Soviets fought in Afghanistan and we helped them lose by supplying weapons to the Afghan fighters.
  2. Then after ten years, the Soviets gave up and went home hopelessly defeated. Does that mean that we won?
  3. Then in 2001 the US invaded this rocky country claiming to search for a really bad man running around hiding in caves and manipulating the terrorists of the world……I think his name was Obama…….no , maybe Osama…….or something like that, I forget. Never did find that mysterious guy though. And lots of American soldiers died via the use of American sold weapons to the bad guys. Did we win yet?
  4. Now Low and Behold! Guess what was discovered in this desolate country? Only over a trillion dollars (conservative estimate) of rich minerals including copper, gold and iron. I think we won for sure this time!

Gee, what a coincidence! So what were all of these wars really about? How about MONEY? How about GREED? Already the news is reporting that scientists have known for a very long time that this region is deeply rich in natural mineral deposits. They have been looking for them since the 1970s. Funny…I kind of thought that both the Soviet Union and the US were there for some “other” reason. I just couldn’t picture nice new condos built into the rocky slopes of this arid domain. And I really doubt many people put Afghanistan on their list of the most desirable vacation spots in the world.

As history has taught us over and over for hundreds of years, war is never a good thing. It is always motivated by greed and gluttony. It is nearly always funded by one religion or another. And it always ends in countless young people giving up their lives for nothing in the end really. Who wins a war ever? Nobody. And the planet loses significantly.

It must just be a funny conicidence that focus is moving away from ocean bubbling oil to blood spilling gold. Very sad.
