I won’t repeat the mutliple blogs and news stories reporting the striking down of Prop 8 in California. It seems to be everywhere, so there is no need to repeat the results here again. But what is remarkable is that some gullible gays (perhaps a new sub group comparable to twinks and bears?) thinks that this may mean the end to hate as well. Sorry, WRONG! In case you haven’t noticed, Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, the Baptist Church, the 7th Day Adventists, the Mormons, the Pope, Catholic voters of California, and closeted bigoted gays themselves, are all still very much alive and vibrating with more hate than can fill an anema.
They have not gone away folks. They will continue to fight and they will continue to spread ignorance and hatred. So though we may be happy and celebrating, realize that the finger is on the trigger and the cross hairs are aimed at gay people everywhere. More violence, bigotry and hate crimes will result. Because everyone knows that the gays are trying to take over the country, one state at a time.
I attended the rally in Sacramento to celebrate the overturning of Prop 8. I have to say that I was proud to see the people that came out and attended and were obviously happy and felt vindicated after so much loss in our community. There were kids, parents, partners, friends, neighbors, realtors, politicians, public figures, the police, reporters and several dogs present. It was like a small version of a small, eclectic party in San Francisco.
But what hit me like a brick thrown from the car of a drive by Mormon closet case, was the absence of many gay people that I knew. Where were they? I texted one such friend and he reported that “Suspect N” was not going to attend because he did not “BELIEVE” in gay marriage. Ummmm, HUH? Ummmmm, What? Funny because he believes in having anonymous sex all over Sacramento and not being out to his family? Can you say closet case! Subject N is the kind of gay person we don’t need. He needs to pack up his stolen bags, put down his makeup bag and go back to his disenchanted wife. I think the straight life is more where he belongs anyway. After all, gay men would never wear a floppy safari hat in a public photo.
Why is it that the biggest hypocrites never want to support their own community but only want to reap the rewards as started at Stonewall years ago? Why is it that the gay people that oppose marriage equality believe in “Don’t ask, don’t tell” as being the root of a healthy relationship? If there were more gay people like Subject N, we would all be living in an institution and receiving shock therapy to change our “behaviour”.
Congrats to those that support freedom from oppression and stand up for their own, as well as others, rights. You are the true future of the world. You are the right brainers that will inherit the planet. You are our own salvation. As for Subject N, I just feel sorry for you and your obvious sickness.
